The Magic of The Law of Assumption: Rewrite Your Reality

Hey friend! Welcome to my cozy corner where we dive into the nitty-gritty of manifesting. Today, let’s chat about something super cool: the Law of Assumption.

So, we always hear about the Law of Attraction, right? Well, the Law of Assumption is like its lesser-known sister, but just as powerful. Instead of just thinking about what we want, it’s about living as if it’s already ours.

It’s like putting on the mindset of having your dream life and letting the universe catch up.

I’m excited to share this with you because it empowers our manifestation practice.  So, grab your favorite drink, cozy up, and let’s dive into the magic of the Law of Assumption.

What is the Law of Assumption?

Alright, let’s break down this Law of Assumption thing. It’s basically the idea that what we assume to be true ends up shaping our reality. Like a self-fulfilling prophecy.

So, where does this concept come from? Well, it’s been around for quite some time, but it gained notable attention through the teachings of Neville Goddard, a prominent figure in the New Thought movement. He emphasized the power of assumption in his work, highlighting how our assumptions and beliefs act as the building blocks of our experiences.

Our assumptions are like the blueprint for the life we’re building. If we assume we’re destined for greatness, chances are we’ll start seeing opportunities and making choices that lead us in that direction. But if we assume the opposite, well, you can guess where that might take us.

Our beliefs play a huge role too. If we truly believe something is possible, our actions and decisions start aligning with that belief, almost like the universe is saying, “Oh, you’re serious about this? Let me help you out.”

Our minds don’t really know the difference between what’s real and what’s imagined, so when we immerse ourselves in these mental images, we’re programming our subconscious to make it happen.

So, to sum it up, the Law of Assumption is all about recognizing the power of our assumptions and beliefs, and using our imagination to shape our reality.

Pretty cool, huh?

The Law of Assumption vs The Law of Attraction

Both of these laws share some similarities, but they’ve got their own unique twists.

The Law of Attraction is the one we’ve probably heard the most about. It involves putting out positive vibes to attract what we want into our lives, like a magnet pulling in our desires. Think vision boards, affirmations, and focusing on what you want rather than what you don’t.

On the other hand, the Law of Assumption takes a slightly different approach. Instead of just attracting stuff to us, it’s more about stepping into the shoes of the person who already has what we desire. It’s like playing dress-up with our dreams and acting as if they’ve already come true.

So, while the Law of Attraction is about attracting desired outcomes, the Law of Assumption is about living as if those outcomes are already yours. It’s about embodying the feelings and identity of the person who is already living your dream life.

Now, that might seem like a small difference, but it’s actually pretty huge. See, when we assume the feeling of already having what we want, we’re not just waiting around for it to show up—we’re actively living as if it’s already here.

And that shifts everything.

It changes how we show up in the world, how we make decisions, and ultimately, how we experience our reality.

So, remember the difference between these two laws next time you’re practicing manifesting. One is about attracting, and the other is about assuming.

Both are powerful in their own right, but when you combine them? That’s when the real magic happens.

How to Use The Law of Assumption

Identify and Revise Limiting Beliefs:

  • Become aware of your thoughts and beliefs, especially the ones that hold you back.
  • Challenge and replace limiting assumptions with empowering beliefs that support your dreams and goals.

So if you catch yourself thinking, “I can’t do that,” stop and say to yourself, “I haven’t done that yet.”

That one I got from my kids’ Taekwondo teacher.  He gave them a pep talk about believing in themselves and I’m there on the sidelines like, omg take notes take notes!

Visualization and Affirmation Techniques:

  • Visualize yourself living your dream life with vivid detail and emotion.
  • Repeat affirmations daily, focusing on positive statements that reinforce your desired assumptions and beliefs.

Gratitude Practice:

  • Cultivate gratitude for what you already have, sending a powerful message to the universe that you’re ready for more.
  • Take time each day to count your blessings and express gratitude for the abundance in your life.

By incorporating these practical techniques into your daily routine, you can harness the power of the Law of Assumption to manifest your desires and rewrite your reality. Remember, consistency and intention are key.

Using The Law of Assumption With The Law of Attraction

Now that we’ve explored the Law of Assumption and its powerful role in manifesting our desires, let’s talk about how it can work hand in hand with its well-known counterpart, the Law of Attraction.

Here’s the thing: while the Law of Attraction focuses on attracting desired outcomes into our lives through the power of our thoughts and emotions, the Law of Assumption takes it a step further. It’s about assuming the feeling and identity of already having manifested those desires.

So, how do these two laws complement each other?

When we combine the Law of Assumption with the Law of Attraction, it’s like we’re firing on all cylinders. We’re not just putting out positive vibes and hoping for the best—we’re actively living as if our desires are already here.

And that’s where the magic happens.

Here are some tangible examples of how you can integrate both laws seamlessly into your manifestation practices:

Visualization and Affirmation Combo

Close your eyes and vividly imagine yourself living your desired life. See yourself in your dream job, feeling fulfilled and joyful. Then, reinforce those visions with affirmations like “I am living my dream job and loving every moment of it.”

Act As If

Start acting as if your desires are already here. If you’re manifesting financial abundance, start making financial decisions from a place of abundance rather than scarcity. Treat yourself to small luxuries like buying some fruit from the posh market instead of the budget grocery store, make investments in your future (no matter how small), and carry yourself with the confidence of someone who’s financially secure.

I’ve done this exact thing when I was looking for a new home for my family.  I fell in love with this house that had a small pond in the garden.  There were three other parties looking at the house, and I wanted to make sure it was my offer that the seller accepted.

So I thanked the Universe for the success of our offer being accepted, and in the days leading up to the offer deadline, I spent any free time I had learning about ponds.

I had never owned a pond before, so if this house was going to be mine, I needed to learn how to maintain a small pond.

So I researched how to prep a small pond for winter, how to keep pond water clear and still safe for cats/wildlife to drink from.  How to care for pond plants, and which ones grow best in full sun.

I acted as if that pond was already mine, and I was researching how to care for this new acquisition.

And guess what?  The deadline came.

I got the house.

The other 3 people didn’t even put in an offer because they assumed there would be too much competition!

Yeah, baby, the competition was ME!

This was 5 years ago, and I am currently sitting in my home office of that house, happily writing this blog post for you.  It was one of the biggest defining moments for me in my own personal growth journey.

That was when I realized just how powerful our minds can be.

Amplify Your Gratitude Practice

Combine gratitude practices from both laws to supercharge your manifestation efforts. Express gratitude for what you already have, as if your desires have already manifested.

For example, say “Thank you, Universe, for the abundance that flows into my life effortlessly” as if it’s already happening.

gratitude practice using the law of assumption

It’s combining being grateful for the things you already have with being grateful for the things you don’t have yet (but are being equally grateful for as if they are already yours).

By harnessing the synergy between the Law of Assumption and the Law of Attraction, we can amplify our manifestation power and more easily rewrite our reality.

Whew, you made it to the end!  The beauty of assumption-based manifestation is that it puts the power back in our hands. Instead of waiting for our dreams to come true, we become active participants in the creation process.

We step into our power, align with our desires, and watch as the universe responds in kind.

So, friend, I encourage you to take what you’ve learned here and experiment with assumption-based manifestation techniques in your own life. Start small, and gradually build your confidence as you see the magic unfold before your eyes.

I have full confidence in your ability to rewrite your reality and manifest your deepest desires. You are the creator of your destiny, the architect of your dreams.

Go forth with courage, with intention, and with the unwavering belief that anything is possible.

With love and gratitude,
